Un-Apologetically Brenda

Equipping Leaders to Leverage their Personal Power to Move Beyond Biases

Anderson Let's Talk 2018.jpg

I "un-apologetically" speak to women and diverse leaders equipping them with strategies that leverage their personal power to move beyond perceptions and biases.

HELLO, MY NAME IS BRENDA FAYE ANDERSON!

About

If you have heard the story of Jabez from the Bible

(I Chronicles 4), you know that not very much is revealed about him or why he even appears in the bible.

What you do learn is that he had faith and believed that there was something unique about his spirit that entitled him to achieve so much more in his life.

My purpose in life is to inspire that same spirit that lies within each of us to achieve what we need and to live with much more joy in our lives.

I specifically help women business leaders and women business owners to leverage their personal power to achieve results that go beyond biases and perceptions.

Although my mother never confirmed it, my middle name “Faye” derives from the word “faith.” From the moment I began my entrepreneurial career almost two decades ago, to guide my life, I have learned to embrace the “F” in my name to reflect the same faith that Jabez demonstrated.

I was born the youngest of seven children….however I grew up almost as an only child. My parents were entrepreneurs. My mother was the first woman I ever saw with a briefcase – a Samsonite slim line that was electric blue with a matching train case (coming back in style). I am mother to two adult sons; “B-Ma” to my two grandchildren….and oh yes…thankfully I am a domestic violence survivor.

I have over three decades of providing organizational development consulting, executive leadership development coaching and innovative learning interventions both as a senior leader in Corporate America and as well as an entrepreneur.

I have worked with business, government and organizational leaders as well as I have sat in C-Suites, Boardrooms, City Halls, Chambers of Commerce as well as on boxes in the backrooms of business owners offices. As a result I un-apologetically will tell you that the business world many of us navigate every day, has a parallel reality filled with biases and perceptions that allow for some to move freely while others must learn to deal with expectations that keep them from achieving their desired outcomes and goals.

I have had the opportunity to serve as program facilitator/coach for several leadership and small business development programs nationally as well as internationally. All of the programs are designed to equip participants with skills and knowledge necessary to take their businesses or careers to the next level. Additionally, I have served in the capacity of consultant and coach for many individual business owners, executive and senior organizational leaders.

I am the author of From Zero to Faith…Real Talk for Real Business. (Amazon.com, Westry Wingate Centering Press Publishing, 2011). In the book I share some painful lessons that I learned while becoming an entrepreneur.

I have received numerous awards and recognition for my leadership in the community. Some of the recognition includes the 2017 La Noticia’ Excelente Award for the “Non-Latino Most Supportive Person of the Latin American Community.” I was featured in the February 2017 issue of Style Blue Print as one of Charlotte’s 11 Successful Women, and in March 2017 by Radio One Charlotte as one of its “Women of Excellence”. The Charlotte Chamber of Commerce recognized me as the recipient of the Diversity Champions honor. The Charlotte Business Journal’s also selected me as one of the 2006 Women in Business Achievement and 2004 Diversity Catalysts Winners.

The common theme for the recognition mentioned is that each honor represented my ability to first understand and then secondly learn how to navigate the biases and perceptions of the parallel reality.

As a speaker, I want to share some of the lessons I have learned to help women and diverse leaders leverage their personal power in order to navigate the parallel reality. I want to equip them with three key strategies to achieve results beyond the perceptions and biases. I will also provide them with tools and information needed to either grow their businesses or to make their next career move. In order to share these lessons and strategies, I commit to be inspiring, transparent, authentic and “un-apologetically Brenda.”

Making Powerful Decisions in the Parallel Reality

Women business leaders and business owners are faced with making tough decisions.

Many of those decisions are often made in a parallel reality….a reality based on biases and perceptions of what women think and feel rather than what we need or what we know.

Brenda’s inspiring, dynamic and informative presentation will equip women leaders and business owners with three key strategies for leveraging their personal power to make decisions that achieve their desired business outcomes.

Navigating the Biases and Perceptions of the Parallel Reality

As we deal with today’s challenges, we must also deal with the reality that most of our experiences, beliefs and values have been shaped by messages that are often influenced by biases and perceptions. Thus the reason this talk is recommended for diverse audiences.

To understand the impact of this process, we must learn how to navigate the parallel reality to achieve our desired outcomes and results.

Brenda will provide participants with three key strategies to navigate the biases and perceptions that exist in the parallel reality equipping them with the tools and information to achieve what they need.
